Greek philosophy has influenced in different ways the patristic christian orthodox tought. The two most proeminent and honored forms, consacrated by heresiology and by didactical use, are: (a) the interpretation of philosophy as a type or model (antitype) of intellectual Christiansm; and (b) the philosophy as “handmaid of theology”. In fact, both are answers that reject and replicate the Gnostic form of Christian thought that precede them, answers that are pneumatic in nature, and misteriosóphics in their practice.
