Abstract Rom 8,2-4 is at odds with a Thora-critical interpretation of the Paulin conception of the Law. This study tries to make a particular feature of this debate and accentuates the role of the anthropology. Not the Law itself but the vulnerable human being under the reign of the sin was the cause for the failure described in 7,7-25. Following the intervention of God through Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit opens new perspectives of salvation in the life of the transformed Christians, without implying the abolition of the Law.
