Abstract Psalm 92 is concerned with divine justice – a common biblical preoccupation – and one addressed by a number of other psalms. In this article a new reading will be proposed that exposes four contrasting axes along which the psalm’s range of imagery and depictions are interwoven. This reading points out the close affinity between the personal encomium and the issue of divine justice and will elucidate their pivotal literary function in this psalm.
