Abstract The exile in the Ancient Near East concerns both peoples and gods: the divine statues are often deported along with their people. The article aims at reconsidering the ancient sources, it will question the biblical exile of Yhwh in the three great prophets. Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel: Has Yhwh gone with his exiled people or has he remained in Jerusalem? The investigation will thus show the theological visions concerning the exile in this prophetic corpus, their differences and similarities. It will also show how the concept of Yhwh's face is significant for the biblical theology of exile.
