Abstract The following essay draws up four author writings in a short version. For these authors the connection to the bible is neither applicative nor by chance. It is constitutive. The writings are written by Ernst Jünger (1895-1998), Paul Wühr (born 1927), Robert Gernhardt (1937-2006) and Patrick Roth (born 1953). The reasons researching the bible, which is the central written document of the Christian Gospel, are very different. It is neither important whether the dealings with the Christian knowledge and the holy writings are orthodox or heterodox, nor the authors want to make a profession or not. The assertion explains, how different the examination with the bible is, they want pursue the same aim: to serve the own process of writing.
